Time to start getting serious about this year's track & field championships, July 21-22 in Renton, Washington. If you haven't already entered your team, go to the USCAA homepage and get all the forms you need pronto!
Logistics and niggly details:
* Information on the road race is here. The course is the same as last year, so you should all have some familiarity with the wheres and whens. We'll be doing more to catch cheaters this year, though, so let your runners know that cutting corners is verboten.
NOTE: ROAD RACE ROSTERS ARE DUE no later than July 6 (see Roster Instructions form).
* Does your team want a cooler? The USCAA will arrange for cooler rental (approx. $15-$20), but you must email me to let me know by JUNE 22 if your team would like to reserve one. We can store them at the track overnight on Saturday, and will have them available for pick-up on Friday at the track.
* Party on. And on. And on. Starts this year at 7pm, after awards at the track and after we've had a chance to freshen up. DJ entertainment again, based on highest party turnout in ages. Forward me any special requests, so we can make sure we have your teammates covered and groovin.
* Field event rosters are due by JULY 6. See Roster Instructions for info.
* Check out the USCAA website for add'l info on hotels if you haven't made your reservations yet, or let me know if you need some help tracking something down - we can put you in touch with some helpful folks out there.
* Stadium stuff: As with last year, no food/drink are allowed on the track or infield, and outside food and drink should be for athletes' consumption only. Shower facilities are available again, so feel free to take advantage before showing up at the party - but it's a BYOS/T (soap and towel) kind of place.
* The Volunteer Sign-Up sheets will be going around imminently, so start circulating them to your team and signing up early. As always, this is the best way to keep the meet running smoothly - without everyone's effort, there's no way we can pull it off.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to having you out at this year's Championships for another great weekend of competition!
Best regards,
Andrea Austin
