USCAA 1999 Nationals - Team Captain Mailer
|
Comments/Questions? E-Mail Hank Lawson at hanklaw@ix.netcom.com
Dear Team Captains,
I hope this letter finds you all "raring" to go for the upcoming summer USCAA Track and Field
Nationals. This will be the 22nd running of the Nationals and the first time since 1988 that they've been
in the San Francisco Bay Area. This years site is Los Gatos, CA - home of "The Cats." Los Gatos
recently hosted the Brazilian World Cup team and they are now awaiting the USCAA. We chose Los
Gatos for it's quaint atmosphere and the proximity of the track to downtown (just across the street).
This year we're going to do things a little differently. For one, we're going totally high tech and
will be using the Internet, exclusively, to relay information about the meet, registration, scheduling,
results, etc... If it's not found on the '99 Nationals Web Page, then it must not exist. The address for the
Web page is:
http://pw2.netcom.com/~hanklaw/WEBPAGES/USCAA/1999/national.htm
If for some reason however, you are unable to get access to the Net, we will be happy to send you the
data through US Mail (speed not guaranteed). So what we need from you is your e-mail address (or US
Mail address) if you'd like to get bi-monthly updates on the Nationals. You can send them to us at:
hanklaw@ix.netcom.com or danny.moon@lmco.com
or

Saratoga, CA 95070 Saratoga, CA 95070-1871
On the flip side of this letter is a request for volunteers. Please look it over carefully and return it
either with, or prior to, your team entry form. To put on an event such as this requires a great deal of
coordination and help.
The Rules & Regs committee is still in the process of revising the rules. We have some
additions/changes to this years rules to reflect the changing environment of the Corporate world. You'll
need to keep checking back to the '99 Nationals page for further updates in regards to the rules.
We look forward to the pleasure of hosting the '99 Nationals and wish to see you all out here,
whether you're a new team trying it out for the first time or one of the "old timers" that have watched the
USCAA Nationals grow up to be a true adult. You can always bet on a few surprises along with seeing
some of your old friends and new faces that will become part of a USCAA tradition. See you on July
17th.
