Runners, The United States Corporate Athletic Association's (USCAA) 2002 Marathon Championship was held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on February 9th. Over 100 corporate runners competed in the marathon and relay events. Runners enjoyed sunny, cool weather on race day and a flat, well staffed course. The USCAA awards ceremony and buffet dinner was a fun event that received great reviews. The marathon results are listed below. There were some exceptional performances including Robert Ashby from Bath Iron Works and Tim Knowlton from General Electric who finished second and third overall in the marathon respectively (2:34:47 and 2:40:05). Richard Stotlar from Lucent at 60 years old ran a 3:03:10 marathon (WAVA performance level of 82.63). We will be returning to Myrtle Beach in 2003. The marathon is scheduled for February 22 and we hope you will join us. If you have any questions or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact me or visit our web site at www.uscaa.org.
